Updated 28th March 2020
On Sunday 29th March (Lent 5, Passion Sunday) there will be online Morning Worship taking place at 10:00 am and Evening Prayer at 6.00 pm. If you would like to join either or both of these, use the following link: Parish of Cowbridge Worship. We will be online fifteen minutes before each service to welcome people and help with any technical difficulties
The link will take you to the Zoom app and you might need to download the app to your device – that should be easy to do.
We will provide the words for the service directly through your device, but if you would like to download the slides, you can do so here: Morning Worship for Passion Sunday. The readings and prayer requests are available as usual through Pews News.
Online Coffee Morning
We are also holding an online “coffee morning” on Wednesdays and Fridays at 11.00 am. The link to join these is: Parish of Cowbridge Coffee Morning.
Notice for 21st March 2020
With the anxiety raised by the Coronavirus pandemic, be assured that local churches are praying for all those impacted deeply by the current situation as well as offering practical and pastoral support where we can. In doing so, we seek to fulfil Christ’s command to serve.
Until further notice, all public services in the Church in Wales are suspended, and we are following the guidance set out by the Bench of Bishops (Coronavirus guidance). Therefore there will be no public services in any of the churches in the parish. For weddings, funerals, and baptisms, please read the guidance and if you have further questions, contact one of the clergy or the parish office.
The parish office will be closed to the public for the present but will remain fully functional by telephone and email. Further resources and information can also be found on the Diocese of Llandaff website, including Bishop June’s recent letter to the Diocese.
If you’d like to receive the weekly diocesan newsletter, you can sign up for it here – Llandaffmatters.
From the start of next week (22nd), the clergy will telephone those on our electoral roll list who are self-isolating so that we can offer pastoral and practical support. If you know of someone who would appreciate such a call, please let us know (but do ask their permission first).
On Sunday (22nd – Mothering Sunday) there is to be a Wales-wide Call to Prayer and Action at 7.00 pm, and we are all asked to light a candle and place it in a window. We are also hoping to upload a video of a Mothering Sunday act of worship for you to follow and offer prayer. Check back here on Sunday 22nd from 9.00 am.
O God, you know us to be set in the midst of so many and great dangers, that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: grant to us such strength and protection as may support us in all dangers and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
